WHO WE ARE:

Duffys Forest Rural Fire Brigade

 

WHAT WE DO:

Primary fire protection for the 155 residential properties in DuffysForest.

As with most RFS brigades, we are involved with Community Education, Fuel Management Programs, and Fire emergencies both within and outside our area of responsibility.  

 

WHEN WE FORMED:

The Brigade was originally part of Terrey Hills Bush Fire Brigade which was formed in 1942.

 In 1963 it was decided to form a separate brigade. On 22 April 1964, this became a reality with Duffys Forest RFB officially formed under the Captaincy of Keith Joiner.

REGULAR MEETINGS:

Every first Monday night of the month at the station starting at 1930. The current Brigade has had an influx in members with a new total of 110 members and two fire fighting appliances, (Category 1 and Category 9).  

We have a rostered “Duty crew” operating out of the station on the first Saturday of every month from 0900 until 1700. The Brigade is also “Open” when necessary. This could be times such as “Total Fire Bans” or approaching storms etc.

 

BRIGADE TRAINING:

Training happens on the third Monday night of each month at the station commencing at 1930.
